Many Albertans are unaware that the provincial government offers funding that can cover the cost of professional homecare services in your own home. The Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) Program is a government initiative that gives eligible clients more choice and control over their care.
What is CDHCI?
The CDHCI Program allows Alberta Health Services (AHS)-assessed clients to direct their own homecare by choosing from a list of approved agencies — including AEGIS Homecare. Instead of receiving care through AHS directly, clients use government funding to hire and direct their preferred approved agency.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify, you must:
- Be assessed by Alberta Health Services as requiring homecare.
- Reside in your own home or a supported living setting.
- Be willing to manage your own care (or have a representative to help).
- Agree to terms outlined in the CDHCI agreement
What Services Are Covered?
CDHCI funding can cover personal care, health-related supports, and some homemaking services. The exact amount is based on your AHS assessment.
How to Apply
- Contact Alberta Health Services to request a homecare assessment.
- If approved, inform AHS that you’d like to participate in CDHCI
- Choose AEGIS Homecare as your approved agency.
- We handle the rest — from care planning to service delivery to invoicing AHS directly
